My Maid, Miss Kishi, Volume 1

Description from NetGalley:

Kiichiro Hayase has a reputation as the wealthiest, hottest, most eligible bachelor in town. But as they say...behind every successful man is the maid who keeps him from tripping over his own two feet! Enter Miss Kishi, the most competent, professional maid around—and the only thing keeping from Kiichiro quite literally crashing and burning. He owes it all to her, but can he ever make it up to her? He's sworn to try...no matter how many things must get broken, scattered, or lost to do so!

My Review:

I received an e-copy of this manga in exchange for an honest review:

I was really excited to read this. I loved the idea that it would be the man being clumsy instead of the woman. Unfortunately, this manga just missed the mark a bit. A lot of the chapters were pretty much the same scenario over and over again. Just slightly different. Kiichiro makes a mess and Miss Kishi picks up after him. I honestly cannot even imagine how the next volumes will be. It sounds exhausting a bit.

The characters weren't bad. I did like Kiichiro. I loved that he was clumsy, but I do wish he wasn't so obtuse. He kept trying to buy Miss Kishi gifts as if that would win her over or even give her insincere compliments so he can have the gratification of her smiling. It never felt like he was doing these things for her. I liked Miss Kishi. None of the chapters are really from her point of view. I do think the manga would benefit a lot more if Kiichiro's point of view was broken up a bit.

Overall, the idea was there but I will not be reading further into the series. This was just a pass for me.
